Clydebank marked their election to the professional set-up with an impressive 3-0 victory over East Stirlingshire in their opening League Cup tie at Kilbowie Park.With more than 2,000 spectators turning out despite poor weather, there was a sense of occasion as the Bankies took to the field for their first senior fixture. Clydebank maintained their fine run of recent form, and 2nd position in the league table with a third consecutive 2-0 victory, this time Glenafton being the victims. The home side have only themselves to blame for the loss however, as Findlay Frye was given a first half red card for a disgraceful knee high tackle on Ross Alexander in a game that was otherwise fairly contested.
