Clydebank PressA crowd of about 8000 were at Kilbowie Park to see Bankies play English FA Cup finalists Chelsea in a friendly game and curtain raiser to the season.The town council were there as were some of Chelsea's supporters who had travelled up to see their team face Aberdeen earlier in the week.Chelsea did not win at Pittodrie and surprisingly they did not win at Kilbowie either. I thought last week’s match at Kilbirnie was the worst I had seen this season, but that was a footballing exhibition in comparison to the fare that the Bankies fans had to endure this afternoon. An absolutely horrendous game on a gluepot pitch that looked like it had just hosted a polo match was compounded with a tame 2-0 defeat at the hands of Irvine Meadow.
