Match Report

Kilbowie Park was well patronised on Saturday, when these teams met in the third round of the Scottish Cup. With the aid of a strong wind in the first half the Juniors monopolised the play, but so well did the Rovers' defence perform that no goals had been scored when the half-time whistle blew. Five minutes after resuming a double-whistle foul was awarded the Juniors, and R. Anderson converted with a high, fast shot The same player had a fine opportunity of increasing the lead from a penalty, but his shot went straight into Maye's foot. The Juniors' second goal was scored by Spence, but most of the credit is due to McLean, who beat the opposing defence, and centred with such accuracy that Spence had no difficulty in finding the net. The Rovers made a great effort towards the close to reduce the lead, and as the result of a clever run by Jenkins, Kay was enabled to find the pet from close range. The Juniors were the better team throughout, and deserved their victory.
