Match Report

This important League fixture attracted a large crowd to Atlas Park. At the start the visitors were aggressive, but the home backs kept them well within bounds. A breakaway by the Hill followed, and Smallman sent in a splendid shot that just grazed the bar. Despite the slippery ground both teams displayed good football. Twenty minutes from the start Allan gave the Hill the opening goal. Petershill were now doing all the pressing, and Currie almost added another, but Wakeman saved. Petershill’s second goal was got soon after by Rollo with a shot which gave Wakeman little chance. Close on the interval Currie secured the third point for the 'Hill. Hall time found the score standing-Petershill, 3; Clydebank Juniors, 0. In the second half Clydebank displayed better combination, but they could not beat the home defence. They were awarded a penalty, but Massey saved this. Rollo and Smith added other two goals for the 'Hill, who won easily with the above score.
