Match Report

This Glasgow League match was played at Clydebank on Saturday before almost 3000 spectators. The Juniors included McMillan from Dumbarton among their forwards, while Parkhead committed Barton of Parkhead Athletic.

On kicking off, the Juniors were being forced to defend, but ultimately their defence relieved with difficulty. Fast running by Lawrie and McMillan caused the Head's defence considerable anxiety until Gowans came to the rescue and cleared. At length the Juniors forced a corner, and ere the Parkhead knew what he was about, Ralston headed into the net.

Several offside decisions against both sides kept the rival partisans busy until half time, when Parkhead crossed over a goal down. The second half was also keenly contested, and after a cute dodge by Ralston, Woods sailed in and made the Juniors lead two with a capital effort.

Try as they would, Parkhead couldn’t beat down their opponents defence until slackness gave Connelly an opening, and Bell was left to pick the ball from the back of the net. Till the close, the game was contested in lively fashion, but Clydebank emerged on the right side by 2-1.
