Match Report
At Atlas Park, Springburn, the above clubs met under League auspices. The home team opened well, and for a time had the best of the exchanges. The Juniors came away strong after a little, and although they had had the worst of the play to begin with, it was left to them to open the scoring, which Hill did with a long drive.
The home team kept trying, and at last were rewarded with a penalty, which Morrison converted. Halftime was then called. As in the first half, the home team had the best of the opening exchanges on resuming, and only a good defence kept them from securing the lead.
The visitors then had a turn of aggressive work, which was also met by a resolute defence. Then the Hill came away, and Nixon put them one ahead with a lovely effort.
The next minute the game was brought to a stop through Gilhooley interfering with D. Anderson, for which act he was ordered to the pavilion. This caused a general break in, and it was fully ten minutes before the field got cleared again.
When the teams appeared, the referee ordered D. Anderson back to the pavilion, an act which the player greatly resented. The closing stages were of a bustling kick and rush kind, and when time was called no further scoring had taken place, the result being as above.
