Match Report

At Germiston Park, Tollcross, The Vale opened the game, but in the opening stages the Juniors nearly scored, and Shearer got rid of a nasty shot from Archer. The ground was in a fearful condition, and in the centre the mud was ankle deep. The referee declared the ground unplayable, but both clubs were anxious for the fray, and agreed to play the League match. The ball was, on several occasions, nearly through the Juniors' goal, the mud alone saving their side. Ashcroft spoiled one or two chances owing to his offside tactics. The game was poor, although the spectators got an immense amount of amusement through the players rolling in the mud. Leslie during the second period scored the only goal from far out.
