Meadowside Park again demonstrated its popularity as a gate drawing centre on Saturday, when fully 5,000 spectators assembled to witness this replay. The game throughout was of a keen and interesting nature, and, if lacking in science and combination, this was atoned for by the energy which the players imparted into their play. The Juniors had the advantage of the breeze in the first half, and had slightly the best of the exchanges, but the forwards neutralised their dashing mid-field play by weak shooting. The Yoker forwards, ably backed up by their half-backs, made many raids in Wakeman's citadel, but failed to overcome the Juniors' able defence. Crossing over on level terms, the Yoker were hopeful that, with the benefit of the wind, they would be able to wrest the cup from the holders, and in their opening burst their hopes looked like being realised, but Wakeman rushed out and sneaked the ball away from Dickson's toe. Thereafter the Juniors played splendidly, and after many unsuccessful attempts to beat Ward, Spence did the trick with a shot from close range, Yoker made gallant efforts to secure the equaliser, but failed to get the better of Breslin & Co., and a well contested game ended as above. The Juniors were slightly the better team and deserved their narrow win.
