Walter Gerrard played as a youth with Possil YM and turned senior with Barnsley. He quickly returned north joining East Stirlingshire just at the point when the club were being merged with Clydebank Juniors to form ES Clydebank, Walter made the move to Kilbowie Park, but only made a handful of appearances. When the clubs de-merged after one season Walter returned to Firs Park and played one full season for East Stirlingshire mainly as a centre half. He moved on to Berwick for a season before returning to Kilbowie Park signing in March 1967, He was released at the end of the season. Walter subsequently moved to Hong Kong Rangers becoming a big star scoring over 30 goals in a championship winning season. After he retired, Walter remained in Hong Kong becoming a successful businessman and was not afraid to diversify by starring in TV commercials and singing on the Hong Kong version of Top of the Pops. Walter passed away in 2014
