Match Report
This return League fixture provided an interesting match at Helenslea, and the result is the true value of the game. Juniors opened strongly, their half-backs excelling in smart picking up, and several times it seemed very probable that they would score first. This, however, was left to the home team, and Stobo's goal was really a smart performance, as when the ball seemed to be going over he raced through and quite surprised Bell, by netting the ball from a most acute angle.
Clydebank equalised immediately after the interval. first Hampton having a try, which Gowans negotiated, then Graham getting an excellent opportunity slashed the ball past the home custodian. Play somewhat degenerated after this, but interest was awakened when Parkhead were awarded a penalty. At the first attempt Murray sent the ball past, but the whistle sounded for an infringement, and at the second attempt the same player gave his team the lead.
Not to be outdone, Clydebank retaliated valiantly, and getting around the home goal the ball was rushed through between three of them, and the match drawn. The shooting of both teams needs looking to, but the game was fairly interesting throughout. There would be about fifteen hundred spectators.
