Biography

Played for Clydebank as a trialist in a 2-2 draw with Stirling Albion and was not allowed to leave the dressing room until he had signed a contract. Had only played six games for Pollok Juniors at that stage in his career. Young, fast, pacy winger who also made a good impression on his debut in a 4-0 win over Stranraer. He only had an eight game Bankie career in which we picked up three wins. This was a more than reasonable record in a season which only produced eight wins in total. He was a local boy from Drumchapel and he undoubtedly had ability but for some reason he was released at the end of the season. His brother is the slightly more well-known Andy of Everton, Aston Villa, Wolves and Sky Sports fame.

  • Last Appearance

    Clydebank 2 - 3 Stenhousemuir
    League (Division 2)

Bankies had a very unhappy end to the season at Kilbowie when they played host to Stenhousemuir , a team they should have beaten had they not succumbed to slack play, the undoing of many teams.
