Match Report

Clydebank secured a well-deserved draw against Stirling Albion in a thrilling floodlit friendly at New Kilbowie Park last night.

John Cummings, who previously donned the colours of Aberdeen, Port Vale, and Ayr United, made a welcome return to competitive action for Clydebank. He even managed to get on the scoresheet, contributing to a pulsating 2-2 draw.

The Bankies took the lead just before half-time. A Russell corner found trialist right-winger Jim Gray, whose clever header back across goal fell perfectly for Cummings. The experienced forward made no mistake, guiding the ball into the net with a well-placed header.

Stirling Albion responded with a double substitution at half-time, bringing on McKinnon and Grant for Reid and Cunningham respectively. Their changes yielded dividends in the 67th minute. McKinnon unleashed a powerful shot that MacLauchlan, the Clydebank goalkeeper, could only parry. The loose ball fell kindly to Smith, Albion's new inside-right from Rentrew, who slotted home the equaliser.

Just three minutes later, Clydebank were back in front thanks to a defensive blunder by Murray. His mishit clearance sent the ball straight to Tony Moy, who pounced on the opportunity and rifled the ball into the net.

Stirling Albion refused to surrender and continued to press for an equaliser. Their efforts were rewarded in the dying moments when Grant fired home a superb goal to restore parity.

The match ended in a pulsating draw that showcased attacking prowess from both sides. The return of John Cummings added a touch of experience to the Clydebank attack, while Stirling Albion's new signings showed glimpses of their potential.
