Match Report

Clydebank were unlucky not to take anything from this match against title chasing Irvine Meadow. The Bankies efforts went unrewarded as they carved out the better chances in the 90 minutes, but lost out to a horrible mistake by Michael Morris.

Meadow arguably controlled possession for the most part, but it was Clydebank who looked more dangerous in front of goal. A brave header from Pearson just missed the target,McPherson rattled a shot off the goalkeeper's legs and a free kick from the striker was stopped - just and no more - by Shepherd as the Bankies looked to take the lead.

Unfortunately, it was the home side who scored the only goal of the match and it was a bit of a personal disaster for Morris who has been very assured in recent weeks. He let a pass slip under his foot and the alert Shaun Fraser was quick to react to run clear on goal. Hamilton did well to block the shot, but the pace of the ball carried it over his head and into the net.

Either side could have scored in the second half but it was agony for the Bankies as McPherson struck the foot of the post with a 25 yard shot. Sub Harvie saw a thunderbolt cleared off the line, and Campbell's goalbound shot from the rebound was deflected for a corner. Not much luck for the Bankies who didn't get the breaks their play deserved.

This defeat means the Bankies woeful record at Meadow Park continues where not even a draw has been achieved in five attempts.
