Cowdenbeath's method of cool attacking soccer paid off for them with two goals in the opening seven minutes.Mullen, the centre-forward, put the ball in the net five minutes from the start and Ross two minutes later scored second.
Alan Munro, playing at inside-left last night, took some wind from Cowdenbeath's sails when in 36 minutes he scored from a McGhee corner in a goalmouth scramble.
At the other end, Sugden and Mullen kept McDonald busy. In the 66th minute, Cowdenbeath went further ahead when Ross picked up a loose ball and scored from close in.
