Match Report

Clydebank Press

This was a dour and uninteresting game, with only one or two near things to keep the few fans on their toes.

Clydebank lad new signing Bobby Doyle at centre-forward; provisional Junior sighing Donnie Wilson at inside-left and a junior trialist was at left-half.

The Bankies had a penalty claim turned down in the 10th minute, after Hay was downed in the box.

Just after this, Jimmy Caskie came close with a shot that went right across the face of an empty Queen's goal.

Queen's best chance came in the 34th minute, when McKay found himself with the ball at his feet, right in front of an open goal. But he incredibly hit a Clydebank defender with his shot, and the ball was cleared.

Mick McDonald brought off two superb saves in the second half. His first came just after the interval from a Whitehead shot.

Minutes later he brilliantly tipped a raging 35 yard drive from Sheridan over.

Best for Clydebank were McDonald and Fallon, with Hewitt and Gallacher tops for Queen's.
