Match Report

Sunday Post

For almost an hour it looked as if there would only be one winner-the wind. Then, with the first real constructive move of the game, Clydebank scored. Love managed to keep a pass through the middle down, and there was Jimmy Caskie in the centre- forward position to send a grounder, yes, a grounder, past Lamont.

Accies brought on Paterson for Holton. Minutes later, Rutherford was carried off injured and on came O'Brien. Gilchrist had his name taken for a foul on Love. Clifford went off for repairs, as did Hay.

Hereabout Clydebank took command and notched No. 2. Hawkshaw made the running down the right, and his cross was squeezed over the line by Munro. But Goodwin in a goalmouth scramble got one back for Accies, and Clydebank nearly had to be content with a draw when a Thomson shot hit the bar and came out.

It would be unfair to criticise the players in such conditions. Gaughan, Goodwin, and Clifford for Accies, and Collumbine, Hawkshaw, and Caskie for 'Bankies succeeded more than the others in trying to play a little football.

Sunday Mail

In ten minutes the referee stunned Acas with an offside decision after Goodwin netted.

Ian Hawkshaw was the most dangerous forward with two near misses.

In the second-half a Clydebank goal seemed inevitable, and in 57 minutes Jim Caskie, unmarked, shot home from 10 yards.

Gilchrist was booked for a needless foul on Love then Hay went off for five minutes after a clash with Lawlor.

In 78 minutes Clydebank went further ahead through Munro.

in 84 minutes Goodwin got a consolation goal.
