Match Report

Clydebank Press

Forfar's expected trialists Miller of Forfar Celtic and Smith of Luncarty, were both injured and did not appear .

The home side played with a strong wind and soon were buzzing around McDonald's charge.

A free kick from Lowe found the head of Williams and only an outstanding Save by McDonald at the expense of a corner saved Clydebank.

The keeper then made another fine save from a Stewart cross. Caskie ran off for Clydebank but offside spoiled a promising move.

A great save by the Forfar goalkeeper Beatson from Sime, his own left back, just prevented an own goal.

In 17 minutes Forfar's centre PORTER took a snapshot from the edge of the box and the ball flashed between a ruck of players into the net.

Forfar just deserved their lead. A moment or two later they should have gone further ahead when Ward shot high over the bar.

Clydebank came back strongly and were playing good football. They almost netted with a shot from Kane but generally Forfar were the likelier lot.

Clydebank were the more aggressive in the second half and in 61 minutes Hall floated a lob past Beaton's outstretched hands to the back of the net for the equaliser. A draw was a fair result in a hard match.
