Match Report

Eddie Rutherford finally made his long-awaited debut for the Bankies after two months on the injured list. He looked sharp and showed his quality throughout the match.

The game was a close contest with some good football played by both sides, ending in a well-deserved draw. The most exciting moment came with two goals scored within a minute of each other around the hour mark.

Just after the hour mark, Dowds and Brown combined cleverly to create a chance for Christie, who finished expertly to put the Rangers ahead. However, their lead was short-lived. From the restart, Harry Rutherford burst down the right wing, completely outpacing the Berwick defence, and delivered a perfect cross for Fleming to tap home the equaliser. Berwick pressed hard for a winner in the closing stages, but the Bankies defence held firm to secure a point.

During the first half, Berwick had to thank their goalkeeper Jock Wallace for several brilliant saves that kept them in the game.

New signing for Berwick, Mike Harris from Hereford, made a positive debut. Although he missed a couple of good chances, he showed his attacking instincts and looked dangerous throughout the match.

Russell Craig was Berwick's standout player, impressive in both defence and attack. For the Bankies, both Harry and Eddie Rutherford were lively on the flanks.

There is positive news on the Clydebank injury front. John Baxter is back in training with Partick Thistle, and Eddie Moore seems to be recovering from his shoulder injury. Only John Boyd remains a doubt due to a groin strain.
