Ron Wilson started playing for Clydebank in the Scottish Combined Reserve League (West) during season 1965/66. Thankfully he only played nine(9) league games when Clydebank officially joined the league in season 1966/67. He never had a shutout in the league, his best performance being a loss of three (3) goals and his worst performance saw six goals fly past him. His days were numbered when Albion Rovers put five past him at Kilbowie on 8 October 1966 this was a follow on from Morton scoring six the previous week. He had been replaced by Sandy McLachlan but got a reprieve when Sandy took ill on the way to Forfar on 12 November 1966. There was no happy ending however as the Bankies crashed to a 4-1 loss. This was to be his final game for the club, his league record, played nine lost nine.
