Match Report

Clydebank Press

The Bankies blasted their way into fifth position in the Second Division on Wednesday night with a devastating win over Queens Park. Centre-forward Peter Kane shattered the visitors with four superb goals, while the remainder were the responsibility of Jimmy Caskie (2) and Alan Munro.

The Queen's only consolation came in the 55th minute, when left-half, Eddie Hunter headed home to jolt the Clydebank defence out of a lethargic period.

Without doubt the striking trio of Caskie, Munro, and hero Kane were the cool and precise architects of Queen's Park's misfortunes and the Bankies must have designs on strengthening their newly gained, top five position against Stranraer tomorrow.

To give an indication of the overall tactical superiority of Clydebank one just needs to look at the home score sheet: Munro: (6 min.), Caskie: (12, 14), Kane: (19, 66, 78, 81).
