Clydebank Press
Manager Jack Steedman was pleased with his team's performance at Coatbridge on Saturday when the game was a no-scoring draw.Hero of the match was Dick Madden, Bankies keeper, who used to play for home team Albion Rovers. Dick brought off some wonder saves, but so however did his counterpart in the Rovers' goal.
Winger Eddie Rutherford made a successful come-back to the side although some of his former team-mates in the Rovers' side gave him a rough passage.
One talking point among the fans was when a Rovers' defender handled the ball inside the penalty area and it looked a glaring penalty but the referee and his linesmen never saw, although everyone else in the park did!
That draw means that 'Bankies have not lost for the past, eight games. This week the visitors to Kilbowie in the league are Montrose, a hard side to beat anywhere!

Rovers more readily mastered the treacherous conditions and did the bulk of the attacking, but had to be content with sharing the points.The man who denied them victory was ex-Rovers keeper Madden, who twice brought off glorious one handed saves. In the closing stages he stopped "sure things" from Kelly, Jenkins and Dunne.
Clydebank threw away an easy scoring chance at the start of the second half when Rutherford laid the ball on for Fleming, but the centre's left footer was easily saved by Moffat.
Cunningham and McMurray were prominent in Rovers defence and several times came upfield to have a bang at goal. Dillon was outstanding among the half backs. The forwards while playing a constructive game, could have made more use of their chances.
For Clydebank, apart from hero Madden, the left wing pair, Moy and Baxter, made a good impression.
