Match Report

Les Cameron, called out of retirement by Brechin for a second time to help solve their goalkeeping problems, was unlucky to lose a goal after eight minutes. A free kick was taken by HAY just inside the box and was deflected into the net oft City's defensive wall, with Cameron going the wrong way.

Facing a strong wind, City were largely on the defensive and Kidd saved a second goal by heading clear off the line.

City's trialist centre had a good shot well saved by McDonald, who also palmed a drive by Cunningham over the bar.

Cameron did well to block a tremendous drive by McPaul hit on the run. Clydebank were seldom out of City's half, and with the help of the wind their own keeper, McDonald, nearly scored on the half-hour. Assisted by the gale, his kick from goal scraped the home crossbar first bounce.

City's trialist went close a minute later when his shot from the wing skimmed the top of the Clydebank crossbar. Pleas for a penalty were ignored when the trialist was bundled off the ball.

Cameron saved several high shots cleanly and despite all their pressure. Clydebank had few clear-cut chances

With the Clydebank defence sleeping Cunningham nipped in to gather a lob from Miller but skied over. Clydebank used the offside trap time and again and Cunningham in particular was caught out several times.

Nicol cleared well from Currie but in 65 minutes CUNNINGHAM equalised with a well taken goal after he had run from the half-way line.

Additional scorer – Munro 70th minute.
