In a game which did very little for the reputation of either team, the first half was particularly frustrating, with plenty of near things but no goals.
After the interval, however, the game sparked into life with both goals within seconds of each other. Armstrong scored for Striling direct from a corner and Bankies equalised through Currie with the ball hardly centred.
Albion were awarded a late penalty after McCarry was obstructed, but for the second game in succession Armstrong missed with the spot-kick.
The star of the game was undoubtedly 'Bankies McDonald, probably the Second Division's best 'keeper.
