Match Report

What a night of contrasts for Clydebank on Monday! Jim Fallon, keeping his place at centre-forward, equalised 20 minutes from time.

Then Dennis Ruddy, in his third game after suspension, was sent off yet again, He had been booked earlier in the game, and his name had also been taken in the Bankies match on Saturday. Ruddy was banned for 21 days on his last appearance before the disciplinary committee, and the big defender faces a stiffer punishment this time.

His marching orders came in the 75th minute, but the Paisley Buddies, against ten men, still couldn't get the goal that would give them two points.

Bobby McKean had put Saints ahead just before the interval, the best time, so the experts say, to take the lead. His right-foot shot from the edge of the box left McDonald stranded.

But Clydebank looked like storming back when Fallon headed home a Bobby Love cross in the 68th.

By this time, Ruddy's name had been noted for a foul on winger Ally McLeod. And it was after Fallon's counter that the bearded wing-half was sent strolling by referee Anderson.

One bright spot in this tough match was the left-wing partnership of Alan Munro and Ian Currie, although the outside man was substituted by Tommy McGhee after Ruddy's sending off.
