Thanks to a fogless pitch at Kilbowie Park om Saturday and the welcome return of Mike Larnach after five weeks absence through injury, Clydebank came back to life in this highly entertaining 2nd division clash.
Both Bankies and Alloa met on an even keel and were doubtless planning an exciting bundle for the 750 crowd who came to spur them on.
Clydebank were first on the ball as left winger McColl trundled down the field to send in a fine shot which McNeill has a bit of a struggle holding.
A free kick awarded to Alloa just outside Clydebank's penalty area went wild to say the least after a foul by Henderson on Craig.
Just under half an hour gone, Wilson put Alloa one up after Hall mistimed what should have been a good clearance. A clear view of the net gave big Jim Gallacher no chance at all.
Clydebank fought back to regain their confidence, but it was only shortly later on the half-time whistle Alloa broke in with number two.
In a lone effort, Craig ran on to thump the ball into the back of the net with a fine shot.
Re-start saw Clydebank begin to pile on the pressure in a great effort to reduce the leeway, but Bankies fans saw Larnach's position taken by substitute Law for the remainder of the game.
Clydebank's struggle was rewarded in the 61st minute when White raced in to score that exceptionally elusive goal. McNeill had little chance as he sent the ball sailing into the goalmouth.
A couple of minutes later, the Bankies saw the departure of Andy Roxburgh for McCallan which needless to say presented the visitors with a headache.
I think McCallan would have given Clydebank the boost they so much needed throughout the game, had he been brought on sooner.
