Match Report

Jim Given's third penalty of the season put Bankies back on to the winning trail against relegation-threatened Queens Park at Kilbowie on Wednesday.

But they made heavy weather of their victory, playing the final 25 minutes with 10 men after Mark Treanor was sent off for retaliation.

The full-back was dismissed in the 65th minute when he punched Crawley after the Queens midfielder fouled him out on the touchline.

Nine minutes later, substitute Cook pulled Millar down in the box and Given stepped up to slam the penalty past Atkins.

It was a game which had almost everything a blinding snowstorm for much of the first half, some sparkling football from both sides and then a tousy second half culminating in Treanor's dismissal and that winning penalty goal.

Bankies, with Williamson and Hughes deputising for Ronald and McKeown, looked much more like their old selves, with Given and Millar coming back to form.

Sharkey, Millar and Coyne all had good efforts in the first half, and at the other end Gallacher made two fine saves from Crawley.

After the break, Bankies missed several opportunities before Given's spot-kick finally broke the deadlock.
