Clydebank were denied two points when Dunfermline snatched an equaliser in the dying seconds.
But it was no more than the East End men deserved after dominating most of the game.
Bankies had looked set to take their 10th away win of the season and maintain their tremendous record away from Kilbowie Park.
In front of a 1500 crowd on Wednesday night, Dunfermline were the better side, but it was Clydebank who took the lead after 63 minutes.
And again it was that man Bobby Williamson, who seems to have the knack of scoring goals on opponents' grounds.
A Jim Given corner was headed across goal by Budgie McGhie and Williamson was waiting there to pounce.
He hooked the ball home for another fine goal to add to his growing reputation as one of the First Division's top strikers.
But just when Bankies were about to celebrate another win in their promotion push, up stepped substitute Steve Morrison to spoil the evening.
A Donnelly cross was headed past the despairing Jim Gallacher for an 89th minute goal which gave the Pars a point they deserved.
