Clydebank eased their relegation worries with a fighting draw against the much-fancied Raith Rovers at Starks Park on Saturday.
Tom McGorm was the Kilbowie saviour, knocking Raith off their stride with a goal two minutes from the interval.
Manager Bill Munro must be wishing he could play the promotion hopefuls every week, for Clydebank have proved to be a real thorn in the Kirkcaldy club's side this season, with three wins and a draw in their four meetings.
Saturday's draw followed an inspired 4-0 win at Starks Park in only the second game of the season. Bankies have only recorded one more away victory since then-1-0 bottom-placed Berwick Rangers.
To be honest, Raith Rovers were very unlucky to drop a point which could yet prove to be vital in their promotion run-in.
Jim Gallacher, back and looking as good as ever, made excellent saves from Russell and Lawson to keep the Bankies' hopes alive.
Raith kept plugging away for an opening, but it was Clydebank who shocked the home fans by taking the lead in the 43rd minute.
Tom McGorm rose high above the defence to head home a marvellous goal for the visitors. It could have demoralised Raith, who haven't won at home in their five matches, but to their credit they kept their composure and equalised in the 61st minute.
A slip by Mark Treanor allowed John Mitchell time to home in on goal and beat the helpless Jim Gallacher.
Despite almost constant home pressure, Bankies held out for a valuable point which put the onus on their fellow strugglers.
The dropped points against Clydebank could yet cost Raith Rovers promotion to the Premier League. That would be a pity, because Raith have given a lead to other smaller clubs with thoughts of the big time.
If Clydebank could find the same consistency against other sides that they have shown against the Kirkcaldy club, the heyday of Premier League Football would be back at Kilbowie Park.
